Abstract
A 38-year-old male was referred to Bascom Palmer retina department with a 7-month history of decreased vision in the right eye. Examination revealed hand motions vision, anterior and posterior segment inflammation, and a near total retinal detachment.
The patient was taken to the OR for retinal detachment repair. Intraoperative vitreous biopsy revealed presence of toxoplasma DNA material, confirming the diagnosis of toxoplasmosis necrotizing retinitis.
