Recurrent Pterygium
We present a 71-year-old male patient with multiple pterygium resection surgeries on the left eye and one on the right eye. Referred to BPEI with progressive horizontal diplopia on lateral gaze for seven months. On ocular examination revealed 20/60 vision in the left eye, restriction levoversion of left eye. Patient underwent conjunctiva-perimuscular connective tissue complex resection, medial symblepharon release with conjunctival autograft and amniotic membrane autograft placement. Post operatively patient had ocular movement improvement. One month after surgery patient is orto in primary gaze, with no diplopia on primary gaze, only on extreme lateral gaze to the left.
