Conjunctival Melanoma
A 55-year-old male who presented to Bascom Palmer for a multi-year history of a progressively enlarging painless pigmented conjunctival lesion of the right eye. He was found to have a large non-mobile pigmented lesion of the right perilimbal conjunctiva. While initially he was hesitant, he underwent surgical resection of the lesion using a “No Touch Technique” which confirmed the suspected diagnosis of conjunctival melanoma. Final pathology is pending to determine if complete resection was completed or if he should undergo further therapy such a plaque brachytherapy.
