Strabismus Secondary to a Glaucoma Drainage Implant
A 10-year-old female was referred to the clinic for strabismus evaluation. She had a complex past ocular history including a congenital cataract OD s/p CE/IOL OD at 8 weeks old, RXT s/p RLR recession and RMR resection, IOL dislocation s/p PPV/lensectomy, aphakic glaucoma s/p inferonasal BGI OD, and vitreous incarceration of the BGI s/p repeat PPV. Best corrected visual acuity was 20/80 OD and 20/25 OS. Motility exam revealed a RHT 14 with DVD which increased in downgaze and limitation to downgaze OD. Slit lamp exam revealed a large inferonasal BGI. The right hypertropia was thought to be secondary to mass effect from the large inferonasal bleb. With ocular massage and timolol drops, there was a smaller bleb and improvement in the RHT.
