Abstract
An elderly patient presented to the emergency room with 2 days of progressive floaters and vision loss in the right eye. His visual acuity was 20/80 in the right eye and 20/25 in the left eye. His intraocular pressure was normal in both eyes. Fundus examination was notable for a dense vitreous hemorrhage in the right eye with a large subretinal hemorrhage temporally in the periphery. B-Scan of the right eye demonstrated a large subretinal lesion consistent with subretinal hemorrhage. Peripheral drusen were noted on fundus examination of the left eye, but otherwise, no significant findings were noted. The patient was diagnosed with peripheral exudative hemorrhagic chorioretinopathy of the right eye. He was treated with a series of intravitreal bevacizumab injections in the right eye with resolution of the vitreous hemorrhage as well as the subretinal hemorrhage.
