Choroidal Folds Related to Multiple Myeloma Recurrence
A patient with a prior diagnosis of Fuchs endothelial dystrophy and a past medical history including renal amyloidosis previously treated with chemotherapy presented to the outpatient ophthalmology clinic for routine follow-up. Examination disclosed conjunctival chemosis and chorioretinal folds in the left eye worse than the right. The patient had no subjective pain, and examination revealed no signs of intraocular inflammation. The patient was referred to his oncologist for concern of possible disease recurrence. Recurrence was confirmed and the patient was restarted on chemotherapy, with subsequent improvement of chemosis, choroidal folds, and visual acuity.
