    A patient presented to the ER with traumatic cataract, blown pupil, and hyphema. During follow up, noted to have a cyclodialysis cleft with subsequent closure and elevation in intra-ocular pressure. The patient failed medical management of the elevated pressure. The patient required urgent surgery for management of his IOP with placement of a glaucoma drainageimplant. Concurrently, the cataractous lens was removed and the largepupillary defect was repairedusing an iris cerclage technique. Post operativelyIOP and vision were significantly improved. Herein we will discuss the history and various techniques available for iris repairs.
