Grand Rounds
A patient with no significant past medical history presented to BPEI ER complaining of blurry vision in the left eye for two weeks. On fundus exam, he had hemorrhages in multiple layers of the retina, venous dilation and tortuosity, and Roth spots. CBC was obtained which revealed a white blood cell count of 63. He was transferred to the main hospital and underwent a bone marrow biopsy which showed chronic lymphocytic leukemia. Cytogenetic analysis showed a low risk/favorable CLL, and he is currently being monitored by hematology/oncology without treatment.
