Grand Rounds
We report a case of severe unilateral chemical-thermal injury complicated by total limbal stem cell deficiency and symblepharon, treated with Simple Limbal Epithelial Transplantation (SLET) combined with conjunctival autografting (CAG). We used an autologous limbal biopsy and a conjunctival autograft harvested from the fellow eye. A stable ocular surface was subsequently achieved, and the donor eye remained healthy. This case report demonstrates the efficacy and safety of SLET with supplemental CAG to treat total LSCD with symblepharon in severe ocular burns.
