Abstract
An 83-year-old monocular male presented to the Cornea division, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute with bilateral decreased vision, pain redness and burning for many years getting progressively worse. Examination revealed hand motion vision, ankyloblepharon
and chronic cicatricial conjunctivitis in both eyes. Conjunctival biopsy confirmed the diagnosis of ocular cicatricial pemphigoid. He was started on systemic immuno-suppressive therapy. He underwent extensive eyelid and forniceal reconstruction surgeries
in the left eye. When the surface inflammation was controlled; he underwent a Boston keratoprosthesis type 1 procedure. Vision at 1-month post op visit was 20/100 and is being monitored closely for complications related to K pro. His treatment course
is documented photographically in this presentation.
