Corneal Decompensation
A patient with past ocular history of primary open-angle glaucoma, status post glaucoma drainage implant in the right eye, underwent cataract surgery in the right eye. Preoperative potential acuity meter testing predicted visual acuity outcome of 20/25. The patient developed persistent blurry vision and corneal edema after otherwise uncomplicated cataract surgery. The corneal edema was refractory to conservative medical treatment with topical steroids and hypertonic saline over a period of 4 months. The patient underwent tube revision for tube repositioning into the ciliary sulcus along with endothelial keratoplasty (DSAEK).
