Intraosseous Hemangioma

An otherwise healthy patient presented to the Emergency Room for evaluation of a left orbital rim lesion, found incidentally by an eyebrow technician. On exam, there was a firm bony mass along the superior orbital rim. Eye exam was otherwise unremarkable. CT scan of the orbit revealed a lytic orbital rim boney lesion with a trabeculated pattern. The patient was taken to the operating room for complete resection and orbital rim reconstruction with a titanium mesh and injectable bone substitute. Histopathology of the mass revealed a diagnosis of intraosseous hemangioma. Postoperatively, the patient recovered fully with a great reconstructive outcome.
