Abstract
An 18-year-old female presents to BPEI ER after sustaining injuries to the eye from a motor vehicle accident. The patient was diagnosed with a closed-globe injury and had subsequent traumatic angle-recession glaucoma, vitreous prolapse, and traumatic cataract. She also had a unique nearly complete iridodialysis. Her pre-operative vision was hand motions. She underwent a pars plana vitrectomy, lensectomy, and pars plana Baerveldt glaucoma drainage implant. After normalization of her intraocular pressures and removal of lens, she underwent subsequent secondary IOL implantation with an Akreos AO60. Attempts were made to repair her iridodialysis without success. Her post-operative vision was 20/60 with correction and she did well.
