Radiation Optic Neuropathy
Radiation optic neuropathy is a devastating complication of external beam radiation of the head. Presentation is typically several months after treatment with severe vision loss and exam showing optic nerve pallor. Vision loss is almost always irreversible. Some treatment options include hyperbaric oxygen therapy and intravenous bevacizumab. However, evidence is limited for treatment.
