Arsenic Toxicity
A patient presented for slowly worsening vision over past two years. She was diagnosed with glaucoma at an outside hospital however vision continued to worsen throughout the years. She presented for second opinion. Due to her posterior exam, her diagnosis was difficult to ascertain. On careful review, she was found to have a bilateral optic neuropathy suspected to be caused by a toxic environmental exposure. Her MRI was normal aside from optic nerve atrophy bilaterally. She was informed of her diagnosis, of exposure risks, and what to avoid however she was subsequently lost to follow up and could not be contacted.
