Morning Glory Disc Anomaly

A child presented for evaluation of chronic poor vision of her right eye. Fundus exam showed an excavated nerve with peripapillary chorioretinal pigmentation, overlying central glial tuft, radial vessels, and inferior serous retinal detachment. Findings were consistent with morning glory disc anomaly with retinal detachment. MRI brain and orbits were significant for right optic nerve enlargement, likely reflecting an optic pathway glioma. MRA head was negative for vessel stenosis. The patient was then treated with acetazolamide for serous retinal detachment.
