Glaucoma Drainage Device Related Endophthalmitis
A patient with extensive past ocular history and multiple ocular surgeries, most recently a few months prior to presentation came to the emergency department with one day of pain and vision loss. On examination, patient was found to have a hypopyon, purulent appearing bleb, and no view to posterior chamber. Formal B Scan demonstrated mobile vitreous opacities with membrane formation suspicious for endophthalmitis. Patient underwent surgery to washout the anterior chamber and explant tube from eye. Patient ultimately developed a 360 retinal detachment and was found to be no light perception.
