Abstract
We present the case of a patient with decreased vision in the right eye. The patient immigrated to the United States in 2015, and discovered his decreased vision during an eye exam for a driver’s license. He was diagnosed with Wet AMD and had received 5-6 doses of anti-VEGF with little to no improvement. The history was notable for asthma, controlled with oral and nasal spray steroids, as well as family-related stress secondary to immigrating to the United States. In examination, VA was 20/300 in the right eye and 20/20-2 in the left eye, with both eyes in the hypermetropic range based on manifest refraction. DFE showed peripheral drusen and large macular PED. Further investigation with AF, OCT, and SS-OCTA confirmed the diagnosis. Patient was given instructions regarding the nature of his eye problem and was given a 14-week follow-up with no active treatment. In his follow-up visit, PED had decreased in size with no VA improvement. Currently the patient is under regular 4-month follow-ups with macular OCT scan.
