Abstract
A patient presented for routine follow up of age related macular degeneration and was found to have incidental optic disc edema in her right eye without any decrease in vision or other visual symptoms. On further testing she had enlarged blind spot on visual field without any typical ischemic field defects. Her workup for Giant cell arteritis and infectious and inflammatory papillitis was negative; MRI brain and orbit didn't show any signs of mass or inflammation. Based on her presentation a diagnosis of incipient non arteritic ischemic optic neuropathy was made, and her disc edema resolved at her 3 months follow up without any pallor.
