Grand Rounds
A patient presented to the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute with bilateral anterior stromal corneal haze after photorefractive keratectomy for high myopia in both eyes 5 years ago. His vision was 20/200 in both eyes, in the setting of significant irregular astigmatism induced by the corneal haze. The patient underwent superficial keratectomy with phototherapeutic keratectomy, and Mitomycin C 0.02% with improvement of visual acuity in his right eye to 20/40 at post-operative month 1, and improvement from 20/200 to 20/80 post-operative day 1 in his left eye.
