A 4-week-old male was brought in by his mother for evaluation of elevated pressures in the left eye. Exam was revealing for a port wine birth mark in the V1 and V2 distribution on the left. Patient demonstrated an IOP of 32 in the left eye, with marked corneal edema and buphthalmos on the left eye. Exam of the right eye was unremarkable. Due to borderline IOPs on maximum topical medications, patient underwent exam under anesthesia with ab externo trabeculotomy and stage 1 of Baerveldt placement in the left eye. The patient has had improved IOP control to 20 one week post-operatively and is receiving close follow up for possible future intervention.
