Grand Rounds
A patient presented with advanced keratoconus who is not tolerating contact lenses to improve BCVA of 20/100. Given absence of scarring and young age, corneal transplant such as DALK or PKP were not our first option. Instead, we treated the patient with corneal tissue addition keratoplasty. Patient had improved vision at POD#1 that continued to improve throughout follow-up visits. This novel technique can be a good option for patients who are not good candidates for contact lenses or keratoplasty.
