Grand Rounds
A patient presented to Bascom Palmer clinic with redness and decreased vision in the right eye. She had a history of wet age-related macular degeneration managed with many years of intravitreal ranibizumab injections, and implanation of intraocular ranibizumab port delivery system (PDS) approximately 18 months prior. On exam, she had exposure of the injection port site and flange of the PDS. The PDS has a wide variety of rare complications ranging from conjunctival erosion, conjunctival contracture, infection, and flange dislodgement (prior to a voluntary recall and product redesign). This patient was managed with conjunctival and Tenon's advancement and did well at long term follow up.
