Abstract
A patient presented to the clinic with two years of intermittent blurry vision and vitreous hemorrhage of the left eye. Shortly before presentation, he had been diagnosed with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma based on biopsy of an enlarged axillary lymph node. The patient demonstrated decreased vision and examination was consistent with panuveitis with exudative retinal detachment. Initial infectious laboratory workup was negative. He went on to have a diagnostic pars plana vitrectomy which confirmed diagnosis of secondary vitreoretinal lymphoma. The patient’s systemic workup with otherwise negative. The patient was treated with intravitreal methotrexate and rituximab, as well as intrathecal methotrexate, chemotherapy, and proton beam radiation to the left globe. The patient developed disease recurrence in the right arm and axilla. His vitreoretinal disease has been controlled since initial treatment, with visual rehabilitation.
