Abstract
A patient was referred to our clinic for retinal evaluation. Vision was 20/20 in the right eye and 20/200 in the left eye. Exam showed unremarkable anterior segment exam. Posterior exam showed peripheral shallow retinal detachment in the right eye and
retinal detachment with macular involvement in the left eye. Fluorescein angiography showed peripheral non perfusion and leakage in both eyes. Genetic test confirmed the diagnosis of Familial exudative Vitreoretinopathy (FEVR). Patient underwent scleral
buckle and cryotherapy surgery in the left eye which failed. He then underwent pars plana vitrectomy with silicone oil insertion, and oil was removed after 6 months. At the last visit vision was 20/150 with trace sub-retinal fluid on the OCT. Patient
was scheduled for laser retinal treatment in the right eye.
