Abstract
An adolescent patient with no past medical history presented one day after sustaining a fishing-related ocular injury. Examination revealed a fishhook embedded within a lamellar corneal laceration. He was taken to the operating room where the fishhook was successfully removed using modified advance-and-cut technique, with wire cutters used to transect the barb prior to extraction of the remaining hook. Post-operatively, his uncorrected visual acuity was 20/20 with a mild residual superficial stromal scar.
